Meet the demands of national development, and simultaneously seek breakthroughs in areas where local scholars enjoy comparative international advantage. We aim not only to compare Taiwan’s experience of democratic development with that of other emerging democracies in Asia, but also to place it within the broader context of all democratic countries. The IPSAS emblem is a Greek Ionian column that symbolizes Classic democracy. It also conveys our aspiration to be the bastion of academic freedom.
