2024 Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese Students Counseling Intelligence Workshop
On April 24th, the Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese Students Advising Division held the “Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese Student Counseling Intelligence Workshop,” with 65 faculty and staff members from departments and administrative units participating. The established counseling network results from collaborative efforts by various departments and administrative units. To provide opportunities for mutual experience exchange and practical sharing, the Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese Students Advising Division introduced the overview of overseas and mainland Chinese students, counseling programs, survey statistics, and employment counseling measures in response to new overseas Chinese affairs policies. The Center for Student Well-Being shared common challenges encountered by overseas and mainland Chinese students and suggested guidance approaches. The Student Counseling Center emphasized the importance of appropriate responses and support from a “micro” counseling skills perspective, highlighting that relationships should not be borne solely by one person and reminding departments and administrative units that they must also be cared for. The Student Safety Center shared student incident handling methods and fraud prevention measures. The Academic Advising Office and College of Design and Innovation provided resources such as Academic Advising and Exploration Credits to help students understand themselves better. The satisfaction rate for the event was 4.61 out of 5.00.
