華語文能力測驗自2021年8月起之考試，成績單將增加TBCL能力等級欄位，以協助全球華語學習者了解TBCL與CEFR、ACTFL的對應關係。
2021年華語文能力測驗命題工作以華語文能力基準各等級能力描述、漢字、詞語、語法點及語料庫與能力基準整合應用系統，作為測驗設計的參考依據之一，預計於2023年正式推出華語文能力測驗2.0版（簡稱 TOCFL 2.0）。
